Well, 2001 is upon us and what will it bring?

WebCrawler appears to be down and not indexing. Unless major changes occur. This site appears to headed towards death. So if you are getting nowhere, Relax and concentrate your efforts someplace else until further notice.

Infoseek which became Go.com under the Disney company is trying to sell its service or they plan to close it. I think their problems came when they tried to change the search engine into an entertainment portal of which their are already plenty. I guess they planned the Disney name to carry it but it appears to have failed.

The long domain name test on 63 character domain names has been a failure to date. It has been 6 months and our research has shown that some search engines are not set-up for this. I have noticed that some long domains are working but they appear to be name related without repeating a phrase. Using a long domain to repeat your keyword phrase 2-3 times appears to set off some type of search engine filter and we do not plan or researching this subject further. So if you are planning to get a long domain name longer than 21 characters, be careful.
